My 15 year old daughter Ashley has Celiac Disease, Thyroid Disease and Type I Diabetes. As a parent, I always feel guilty when my family gets to enjoy delicious treats and Ashley needs to pass due to dietary restrictions.
Enter the wonderful Scone Shoppe. I stop in often to enjoy delicious scones and to my amazement, Theresa told me she makes Gluten Free Scones! My daughter and I were so excited! But would they be good? I love that Theresa takes the precaution to bake Gluten Free first thing in the morning so there is no contamination. The extra day wait is a blessing as I know there is no contamination. Ashley was so excited when we picked up her first order! They were delicious! Her friend even enjoyed one, not realizing it was Gluten Free! We froze the remaining scones and Ashley could then enjoy them on another day.
Perfect, we can't believe how delicious and easy. Now we can all enjoy scones and Ashley be a part of what others are eating.
For a parent to watch their child endure all of the health issues and restrictions as Ashley; The Scone Shoppe is truly a blessing and gives Ashley a sense of normalcy.

When I decided to live gluten-free, it was a last resort. I had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004 and steadily declined. No medication helped, in fact, it seemed to make things worse. I finally decided to take control. I stopped eating gluten, dairy, soy, eggs and all processed foods. My symptoms subsided in two weeks and within a month they were gone. Over the next two years, I slowly reintroduced foods and learned that gluten was something my body just could not tolerate.
Living gluten-free can be very isolating. It is nearly impossible to eat at restaurants without fear of being infected with gluten. When I found out you offered gluten-free scones, I was quite nervous to try them. You see, when gluten enters my body, it shuts down, literally, for weeks. If I eat something that contains gluten, I sleep for weeks as my body tries to attack “the intruder.” After speaking with you and learning the precautions you take to ensure a gluten-free environment, I took the plunge and tried a scone. The taste was amazing and sure enough, I was fine. It truly was gluten-free and delicious – two qualities that are rarely described together.
Thank you for your delicious scones and your wonderful staff who make me feel like family.

The Gluten Free Scones are absolutely delicious. I have eaten the regular ones before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I can not tell the difference . . . its such a nice treat!
